Update from Will Raison: 'Well that's another weekend over, an open day at Angling Direct Birmingham on Saturday was a good day. Lot's of interest in the Daiwa products, especially the Advantage Baits.
Sunday saw me on Middle Lake at Gold Valley, I drew peg 98 which is a good peg that I know well. I started close and caught around 12 Fls in the first hour, then a switch to the long pole really paid off. 'Kinder egg' style cupping every cast saw me catch really well, ending with 98 lb and a comfortable match win.
I have to say that the turning point was again switching to groundbait, the Advantage Baits Fl! This really improved my catch rate. If there's one thing that's really working for me at the moment, it has to be groundbait, don't know why, but everywhere I go at the moment, groundbait is the key.
I have a busy week with teachings and working in the shop, also prepping for the European championships has started!' Will.
Will didn't fish Saturday as he was on promotional duties for Daiwa but he won Sunday's match on Middle. Anthony Flint followed up his Saturday win with a second on Sunday.
